TIME FOR PICTORIAL
As Trinity continues to welcome new members, it is time for a new church pictorial! We are looking for a few people to be on the committee to coordinate and organize this project. Please call the church office to offer your assistance.
PHONE ANSWERERS
Thank you to the ladies who have volunteered to come in and answer the phones for our secretary. It is much appreciated!
LET THE SPIRIT MOVE YOU!
Looking for a way to challenge both your soul and your soles? Transport yourself to church on June 23rd (next week) by pedal power or putting your best foot forward. Give walking or biking to church a try—you may enjoy it so much, you do it every week! Sponsored by Blue Zone Project.
MONDAY NIGHT QUILTERS
There will be no Monday night quilting through the summer; we will resume in September.
WOODEN PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
It has recently come to our attention that the tower/slide piece of playground equipment in our courtyard does not meet safety regulations. We would like to have it removed as soon as possible, by July 6th. If anyone is interested in using this piece for their own use, please contact the church office 295-3518. You will be required to dismantle it and haul it away on your own.
NEW QUILTING GROUP
Start‘em Young Quilters will meet on Wednesday mornings from 9-11:30 am in the basement Fellowship Hall. This group is for our youth, 5th grade and up, to learn how to sew, expand their knowledge and what it means to sew a quilt for someone in need. You will be constructing quilts that will be sent to the Oklahoma tornado victims. Adults who are interested in sewing are also welcome to attend. This group will meet through Aug. 14th, however, you will not meet on July 3rd or 10th due to waxing in the basement. If you have any questions, please contact Barb Bitterman 295-2183.
PASTOR INSTALLATION IN GARNER
The members of St Paul Garner would like to invite you to the installation of their Pastor, Rev. Scott Kozisek. This will be held Sunday, June 30th at 4:00pm. A light lunch will follow
BENEFIT FOR ADAM SMITH
A golf benefit will be held for Adam Smith, recently diagnosed with Extensive Small Cell Lung Cancer, on Sat. June 29th at Spring Hills Country Club in Mallard. Benefit includes golf outing, meal, live & silent auctions. To preregister, call 712-425-3582.
LUTHERAN DAY @ ADVENTURELAND
Jr. & Sr. High Youth (5th-12th) are invited to spend a day together at Adventureland in Des Moines on Wed. June 26th. We will meet in the Life Center at 8:00am and return home around 8:00pm. The group rate tickets are $21 each. We will bring a cooler with sandwich fixings and chips to cut food costs, but feel free to bring extra money to spend at the park. Please sign up at the youth table in the Narthex or go to the youth website.
OKLAHOMA NEEDED ITEMS
Tara Rochleau and son are traveling to Moore, OK to take needed supplies to the tornado victims. If you would like to donate, the following items can be dropped off at Eyes on Thorington, by June 21.
Trash bags, gloves, FEMA tarps, dust pans, brooms, rakes, boxes, flashlights, batteries,
Ziploc baggies, towels, hats (ball, caps, etc.), deodorant, hair bands, and hairbrushes
BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES
Did You Know: It’s been said the phrase, “Fear not”, or something akin to it, is repeated 365 times in the Bible. That is one “fear not” for every day of the year! Whether or not this is actually true, it is a great reminder to put our burdens on the Lord. He can handle them. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41: 9-11) Lutheran Family Service of Iowa 1-800-622-7285
THANK YOU
I wish to thank everyone that sent me cards and came to help me celebrate my 90th birthday. Also, to Pastor Turner for the prayer in church for the Lord’s blessings for my many years.
