Rev. Edmund and Deaconess Cherie Auger
Rev. Edmund and Deaconess Cherie Auger serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as career missionaries in Honduras and Nicaragua. They are called to serve in this country under a new partnership with Lutheran Church-Canada and Iglesia Luterana Sinodo de Nicaragua (ILSN). Edmund assists in the expansion of church-planting efforts by offering pastoral care to national church workers and mentoring recent pastoral and deaconess graduates. Cherie offers guidance in the development and implementation of mercy projects which accompany Word and Sacrament ministry.
The Augers are natives of Keene, N.H. They both attended Keene State College. Edmund received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, in 1985. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. Cherie received a B.A. in Human Development from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Fla. She received a M.A. in Deaconcess Studies from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, in May 2014. Before accepting the call to serve in Honduras and Nicaragua, the Augers served the Lord in Guatemala, Florida, Texas and the Cayman Islands. Edmund and Cherie enjoy traveling, cooking, reading and being in the outdoors.
Edmund and Cherie are the parents of three adult children and four grandchildren: Edmund and wife, Joanna, with Edmund James and Adrienne; Mary and husband, Jason Houston, with Isabella and Alexander James; and Ana.
