Back to the Basics: The Stories of God Through Stained Glass Windows

One of the first things that you notice when you enter the sanctuary at Trinity is the collection of stained glass windows that line both side walls.  In addition to the side walls, there's a window above the altar, windows in the balcony, and windows in the narthex.  Each of these windows tells a part of God's story.

We wanted to make better use of these windows so we have professionally photographed each window, written a description, and printed a book.  This book contains each window, the text from scripture it is based from, and a short description.  Our prayer is that this book blesses all those who use it and helps provide a picture of God's story as it has unfolded over time.

The book was also utilized for a sermon series called "Back to the Basics" in 2019. Each week we looked at a window, recalled the story, and learned how it applied to our lives.  This page also served as a collection of resources relating to the windows and the sermon series.

The Window Book

The book "Stained Glass windows of Trinity Lutheran Church" can be seen in its entirety below.  Thanks to a generous donation, one printed copy of the book is available per member family.  A limited number of additional copies are available for purchase from the church office for $5.

Coloring Pages

We took the color out of the windows to help the kids be involved.  During each children's message, the kids get a copy of the window to color.  We know, however, that coloring isn't just for kids.  Here you can download the coloring pages for yourself.

The Sermons

If you miss a sermon you can always watch it through our YouTube channel. Here's the "Back to the Basics" playlist for easy access. If you want to access previous sermons, just click the 3 lines with the triangle in the upper right corner and select the sermon you're trying to find.

Thank You!

A big thank you to Evelyn Ruhnke and her family for underwriting the cost of the book project and for providing a copy of the book for each of our member families.  Also a big thank you to Allan Ruhnke for the design work and project management that he provided for this project.
